The paper discusses some technological, economic, and policy dimensions of the energy choices needed to meet economic, social and environmental goals in both the near and long term, through "Brazil - USA Strategic partnership". It also mentions current situation and future technology options appropriate for developed and developing countries. The major idea is to maximize potential positive synergies through identifying linkages and minimizing leakages of new production systems through technology foresight and bioenergy roadmapping based on complementarities, interdependence and connectivity between American and Brazilian experience and potential production. A preliminary review of the policy considerations, background information on methodology for a joint research and development action program leading to strategic partnership is presented. |
